Do you accept medical insurance for payment?

We do not accept medical insurance as payment for any service. All payments are made directly to the practice at the time of service.

We can, however, provide a detailed receipt for all services rendered. You may submit this to your insurance company for potential reimbursement under “out-of-network” benefits.

Can you see me at night or on weekends?

This question comes up a lot. And it makes sense for busy or working people. We are available on weekends and evenings on a case-by-case basis, with priority to those in the VIP program.

Do you offer discount pricing?

Yes, on a limited basis.

In select circumstances, fees may be adjusted based on need and availability. We take special consideration for military personnel, veterans, first responders, and those with financial hardship. Any fee adjustments must be agreed upon in writing prior to the start of care.

What are the advantages of online medical consultation?

Tele-services can offer several advantages, including higher efficiency, greater convenience, and more personalized care.

Convenience, accessibility and expediency — allowing patients to receive specialist insight from the comfort of their homes, eliminating travel time; eliminating busy offices with sick patient.

And if the patient wants a care provider or loved one to join the consultation from far away, we can easily bring that person into the visit on the video call so we can do it together.

What if I need tests ordered or prescription medication?

Dr. Ellenbogen is a board-certified neurologist and board-certified sleep-medicine physician. These are national certifications, whereas medical practice is regulated at the state level.

Dr. Ellenbogen provides consultative services in all 50 states, offering recommendations that you and your local treating clinician can implement.

If you live in a state where Dr. Ellenbogen holds an active medical license (and, when applicable, a DEA registration), he may also be able to assist directly with ordering tests or prescribing as part of practicing medicine in that state. We take the privacy and security of your personal and medical information  seriously, and have several measures in place to protect you.

Adhering to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), we implement stringent policies to protect patient data. HIPAA mandates that healthcare providers maintain the confidentiality and integrity of patient health information through proper administrative, physical, and technical safeguards.

All electronic medical records are securely encrypted, access to your information is strictly controlled, and all staff are trained in privacy and security best practices. This helps ensure that your information is protected against unauthorized access, breaches, and other potential threats.

Our emails to you, our video conferencing with you and all our forms requested of you are all end-to-end encrypted, which means they are secure in our database, and in transit through the internet.

Do you offer services about the home, like bedroom mattresses and curtains etc

Yes. Sleep doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It occurs in the context of mental and physical comfort and calm. For some, this might mean an improved mattress. For others, temperature. Noise. Light. And so on. For others, it’s about physical security. We have expertise in these areas.

Our office responds within 24 hours. We'll discuss your needs, answer initial questions, and if appropriate, schedule your complimentary 15-minute consultation with Dr. Ellenbogen to determine if our services are a good fit. Most patients who proceed are scheduled for their initial evaluation within one week.
